Ken Hickson

"It’s the star performers and the high achievers who need coaching – those aiming to get to the top. And once you think you’re there, you still need coaching."

Ken Hickson’s whole life has been about communication, as a journalist, an author, a public relations consultant, a media strategist, or a teacher. His expertise in the field of communication is the foundation of both his abilities as a coach and co-head FGC’s Sponsor Support operations in Queensland.

“My years as a journalist taught me to be good at asking questions and getting answers. In coaching insightful questions help our Clients learn and grow.”

“Many business leaders don’t have anyone to turn to – someone they can honestly open up to – so they are inclined to bottle things up. A coach becomes an essential confidant and advisor in good times and bad.”

Ken Hickson believes a positive attitude along with a strong personality is the key to personal and professional success. “A true leader is one who can not only effectively lead management and staff, but also stakeholders and customers.” Ken was Senior Vice president of the world’s largest international communications consultancy, growing the firm’s Singapore business into a major force in the Asia- Pacific region, with clients in 25 countries and economies.

Ken’s understanding of the needs of sponsoring organisations ensures they get as much out of the coaching relationship as the client. Ken is a governor of WWF Australia.

He has been happily married for 25 years to wife “M”, an artist, and is the father of three children, all in their thirties. He is an avid supporter of the arts and advocate for the environment. He enjoys walking, reading, writing … and more writing.
