Richard Hill
"For Richard, the essence of coaching is the satisfaction to be gained from better understanding a job and yourself."

Most business leaders would agree that the corporate world has become incredibly complex. However, the key to success, according to Richard, is deconstructing your tasks and viewing your role and yourself in realistic, simple terms.
A senior international merchant banker who established his own investment bank, Richard says anyone who admits he or she is not perfect, wants to update their skills, and is flexible to change will benefit the most from his coaching skills and begin to view business life in simple, clear cut ways that reduce stress.
For Richard, the essence of coaching is the satisfaction to be gained from better understanding a job and yourself and more effectively dealing with the often
challenging 'politics' of human interaction.
Richard's experience in a wide range of corporations and countries has enabled him to help his clients both assess complex business problems and obtain a clear picture of the personal dynamics which shape a company.
Richard began his career as a lawyer before moving overseas to work at an Australian consular office in London, later
qualifying as an attorney in New York. He joined the Hong Kong Bank Group (HSBC) in Hong Kong in 1978 where his responsibilities grew to
include the international merchant banking activities of HSBC throughout Asia, Africa, Europe and North America. In 1984, he became CEO of HSBC's North American Investment banks, based in New York.
Returning to Australia in 1990, Richard established Hill Young & Associates Ltd, a corporate advisory firm, which became very successful. In 2002 Richard stood down from his day-to-day
investment banking role to focus on his own personal investment portfolio, non-executive board roles and business coaching. He is Chairman of
Reinsurance Australia Corporation Ltd and Deputy Chairman of Insearch Ltd - the commercial arm of the University of Technology, Sydney.
Married with two young children, Richard walks and cycles for exercise, likes watching rugby and cricket and has a passion for reading.
